Terms of Use

Maxlink is a navigation app for motorcycles. It shows turn-by-turn directions on your phone, calculated using Google Maps Platform, and can mirror that navigation picture to a compatible motorcycle's instrument-cluster dashboard over Bluetooth. It also includes ride recording and history, a drag-performance timer, live telemetry, and nearby-place search.

Maxlink is an independent app, built without any involvement from Yamaha or any other motorcycle manufacturer. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected with Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. or any of its affiliates. “XMAX” and “NMAX” are used in this app and on this site only to describe hardware compatibility, not to claim any endorsement or partnership.

• You are responsible for operating your motorcycle safely. Maxlink is a navigation and information aid, not a substitute for attention to the road, traffic laws, or your own judgment. Do not interact with your phone while riding; configure routes and destinations before you set off, and rely on voice guidance, the dashboard mirror, and haptic cues while moving.
• Follow all local traffic laws regardless of what the app displays. Maxlink's routing, speed readouts and maneuver instructions are provided for convenience and may be wrong, delayed, or based on incomplete map data. Road signs, traffic signals and your own observation always take priority.
• The drag timer is for closed courses only. The 0–60, 0–100 and 201 m timing features are performance-measurement tools intended strictly for private, closed courses where such activity is legal and safe. Do not use the drag timer, or attempt to achieve a timed result, on public roads. You are solely responsible for complying with local law and for your own and others' safety when using this feature.
• You must be legally permitted to operate a motorcycle in your jurisdiction to use this app for its intended purpose.

Dashboard mirroring works with compatible Yamaha XMAX/NMAX instrument-cluster dashboards over Bluetooth. Compatibility depends on your specific dashboard hardware and firmware, and on Bluetooth conditions at the time of use; a successful connection is not guaranteed on every device or in every environment. Phone navigation, search, ride recording, the drag timer and telemetry all work fully without a paired dashboard.

Maxlink's mapping, routing and place search are provided by Google Maps Platform and are subject to Google's own terms of service and privacy policy, in addition to this policy. Maxlink has no control over Google Maps Platform's availability, accuracy, or pricing changes, and is not responsible for outages or inaccuracies originating from that service.

Maxlink has no user accounts. Data the app creates — recent destinations, favorites, ride history, drag results, telemetry records, paired-dashboard info and settings — is stored only on your device. You are responsible for your own device's security and backups; Maxlink does not back this data up anywhere. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on data handling.

You agree not to:

• Use Maxlink for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that violates the rights of others.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the dashboard communication protocol for use in a way that could interfere with or damage a paired dashboard or other riders' equipment.
• Use the app in a way that endangers yourself or others, including using the drag timer on public roads (see §3).
• Misrepresent the app as being made or endorsed by Yamaha or any other manufacturer.

Maxlink is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, that routing or maneuver data will be accurate or current, or that the dashboard connection will always succeed.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Maxlink shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app — including damages arising from riding incidents, incorrect routing, dashboard connection failures, or reliance on any information the app displays. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Maxlink may be updated, and features may change, be added, or be removed, over time. These terms may be updated to reflect that; the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when they do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the current terms.
