Privacy Policy

Maxlink is developed and operated by an independent developer, not a company with servers that store your data. There is no backend Maxlink operates — the only network calls the app makes go directly from your phone to Google Maps Platform. Contact: muha.syaifudin@gmail.com.

Everything below is stored locally on your device and never leaves it, except where this policy says otherwise:

• Recent destinations, favorite places (Home, Work and others), and your app settings.
• Rides you navigate or record: the route, the recorded track (GPS points, speed) and ride statistics, in a local database on your phone. You can delete a ride, or clear recent destinations, from within the app.
• The dashboard you paired (its name and Bluetooth address), so the app can reconnect automatically.
• Drag-timer results and telemetry readings. Motion sensors (accelerometer, compass, barometer) are read while those screens or the dashboard's relevant display modes are on, and are not stored except as part of a recorded ride you choose to save.

Nothing is backed up to any cloud service by the app, and Android's automatic app backup is disabled for Maxlink. Uninstalling the app removes all of this data permanently.

Maxlink uses Google Maps Platform (the Maps SDK, Routes API and Places API) to draw the map, calculate routes and search for places. To do their job, these services receive:

• Your device's location, while you have navigation, search or the map open.
• Text you type into search, or a Google Maps link you paste, to resolve a place or route.
• Standard request metadata (like your general region and app identifier) that any Google Maps Platform call includes.

This is the same flow as any app that embeds Google Maps — Google acts as the service provider fulfilling the map/route/search request you made, not as a third party we share your data with for our own purposes. Google's own privacy policy governs how they handle this data: policies.google.com/privacy.

Maxlink connects to your motorcycle's instrument-cluster dashboard over a direct Bluetooth connection — phone to dashboard, nothing in between. Navigation data (the map picture, maneuver info, speed) is streamed to the dashboard this way. This connection never touches the internet and nothing about it is sent to us or to Google.

If you turn on the dashboard's Music, Notifications or Calls mode, Maxlink reads the relevant, minimal information locally (for example, which track is currently playing, or that a call is incoming) to mirror it to the dashboard and let the handlebar buttons control it. This data is not stored, not logged, and never sent anywhere except to your own paired dashboard.

• Location (precise and approximate): to show your position, follow the route, give turn-by-turn directions, and record rides and drag-timer runs. Used only while the app is open, or while a navigation/recording foreground service you started is running. Maxlink never requests background-location access.
• Bluetooth (connect and scan): to find and connect to your motorcycle dashboard.
• Notifications: to show the ongoing navigation/recording/overlay notification required for a foreground service to run.
• Display over other apps: for the optional floating navigation bubble. You grant this in system settings after an in-app explanation, and can turn it off at any time.
• Notification access (optional, granted in system settings): only needed for the dashboard's Music, Notifications or Calls modes. See §4.

Maxlink has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts of any kind. The app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. We do not know how many people use the app, which screens they visit, or anything else about individual usage — there is no mechanism in the app that would tell us.

Maxlink is a tool for riders operating a motorcycle and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and by its nature — a navigation aid for a motor vehicle — the app is not intended for use by anyone not legally permitted to operate a motorcycle in their jurisdiction.

• Delete a ride, a favorite, or your recent destinations at any time from within the app.
• Revoke any permission at any time in Android's Settings — most of the app keeps working with reduced functionality; navigation and recording require location.
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data immediately and completely.

Because Maxlink has no account and no server-side storage, there is no separate “data deletion request” process needed for data we hold — we simply don't hold any. If you have a question about this, contact muha.syaifudin@gmail.com.

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's release notes for the version that ships them.
